Why I Started Brain Create Network
A message from the founder, Serena Lin
Featured in LA Times | Pomona College Neuroscience | 650+ conversations | 7 years in the making

Hi, I’m Serena. In 2019, as a high school volunteer in memory care, I watched families struggle to connect with loved ones experiencing health-related changes & challenges – memory concerns, stroke recovery, vision loss, and more. They’d arrive eager to help but leave feeling helpless, not knowing how to bridge the growing gap.
This became personal when my grand aunt was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2022. Watching her memory slip away while feeling powerless to help deepened my resolve to find better ways to connect.
That’s why I studied neuroscience at Pomona College while continuing to volunteer, eventually working with over 650 participants across 14 communities. My research revealed something powerful: connection doesn’t require perfect memory – just an intentional approach.
I created the Brain Create Network to share what fits into real life. Every tool here has been tested in many living rooms, hospital visits, and senior centers. Because meaningful connection shouldn’t require a neuroscience degree – just simple tools you can start using in 5 minutes.
